This past weekend, we went camping at Brannan Island State Recreation Area – it’s a California state park in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta. It was Maya (5) and Nico’s (2) first time camping and they had a great time!
One of our uncles caught a 20″ striped bass (less than that would have had to be thrown back into the delta). We cooked it and ate it for dinner.
A couple of the aunties also sent along some marinated chicken that we cooked up the same way – over a small table-top charcoal grill. Delicious! As I have said before – food tastes better outside!
And you can’t go camping without some s’mores!
